I've had this unit for several years hooking up to my Pioneer Elite Pro 98 via S-video. My wife has been asking me to get a DVD player to hook up to the bedroom TV. With DVD players now so cheap, I am wondering if I should move the Sony into the bedroom and buy something else to watch on the big screen?Remember that I will not be able to take advantage of the progressive scan as my TV doesn't support that. (No TV upgrade until this one dies)
Any recommendations? Or should I just get a cheap unit for the bedroom TV and keep the Sony in the main system? As for budget, anything below $700 is acceptable.
A friend has recommended a Toshiba SD-3960 for $70 at Best Buy.

There are several very good and inexpensive DVD players available these days. Many people here on Audio Asylum have purchased the Toshiba players because they supposedly have very decent audio sections. At $70 (1/10th your budget) from Best Buy you can hardly go wrong.
