My Denon AVR-3200 just suffered a DSP/IC attack and died. I took it to the service center and am waiting for a repairing cost. The technician, told me the part number and I did a search and found that the part cost $356.00 !!!! SO.....it is time for a replacement.I don't care much about the stereo but the home theater performance. Since my stereo is at a dedicated room and this is mostly for viewing DVD's , I need something around $500.
Any opinion is well received.
Gracias,

Take a look at the new Yamaha RX-V750 / RX-V650 models or the new Yamaha HTR-5790 / HTR-5760 models. They're MSRPs are rather inexpensive (even less on the internet) and should have nearly every feature you would need.HTR-5790 / HTR-5760

Thanks. The dealer who offered me the Denon AVR-1804 and Onkyo TX-SR601 received this new Yamaha last week. It is his favorite of the group, so I will go there and check them all out.The Yammy has some futures I like the most.
Time will tell.
Gracias.
Or used AVR-3803 since the new 3805 is out. I have the 3803 and I like it a lot. Good luck.
Try Dak-mart and eCost for refurbs and B=stock. I bought a dcd-560 refurb 8 years ago and still going strong.Check the Denon site for other b-stock sellers. also try Reliable audio for refurb Marantz. I'm sure there are others. Its a good way to stretch a buck and still get performance.
Thanks for the information.Regarding to these two terms. Is this means that...
1- B Stock ... a unit that didn't make it through the quality control and it is sell at discount because of some issues?
2- Refurbished...a unit that have some quality problems and was taken for repairs and resale at a discount?Or is there any other meaning to these? How about guaranties?
B stock is generally considered to be a cosmetic flaw (often undetectable) or a customer return without an operating or build flaw. So its not a refurb. The ggod thing about refurbs is that a real human has checked it, repaired and done a QC on it before its sent out. But, usually on 90 day guarantees. Someplaces will sell an extended.
yes, the Denon AVR-3803 would be ideal to replace the AVR-3200 , which I think it was at the beginning of the 3xxx models. But my budget will not permit a unit above $500 at this moment , specially if it is just for movies.
Today I called a dealer in San Juan, PR and he offered the new Yamaha VXR-650 over the Denon AVR-1804 and Onkyo TX=SR 601. All are around $450-550. I will give them a visit and check all out.
Thanks again,
I bought this one recently to replace my AVR-2802 ... and I like it ! Full 7.1 amp with preouts for all ... DPLIIX ... and auto-level setup using microphone. Sound is very good. I use it as a preamp.
