I am using the sub out connection from my A/V reciever to my sub. The reciever has selectable cross over points and I am using the 80hz setting. My question is, with the recivers cross over set, what should I do with the cross over setting on the sub? Is this set up using both cross overs and isn't this a bad ting? Should I set it up a different way? Also, the conection from the reciver uses one cable to the left input on the sub. Should I use a Y splitter and plug into both the right and left inputs on the sub?
Follow Ups:
Yes, you should use both inputs on the sub. You're missing half the fun. Actually the the "Y" should be on the reciever end, and then run 2 lines to the sub. You want that signal to be as strong as possible. At least that's what the cable sales guy told me. Never AB'd it, but it makes sense, especially with a longer run.
What mains are you running?
If your subwoofer does not have a "bypass" switch, set the sub's crossover to the highest point to minimize cascading the crossovers. That should work fine.
