Hi,I have a nice 5.1 HT setup and would like to add an extra sub and place the two subs in the left front corner and right front corner.
I have a 5.1 pre with only one LFE output. What is best?
- Should I split the cable from the pre (lfe) and run two separate cables to the subs?
- or should I connect the second sub to the extra outputs on the 1st sub?
- or maybe some have other suggestions?

What type of "outputs" do you have on that sub? Most subs have speaker outputs that are intended for higher frequency range (above the sub's crossover) speakers, not an extra sub. Actually, I have seen this (outputs for an extra sub), but I can't remember who makes the damn thing.Probably the best thing to do in your situation is to get a Y-cable (Y? Because.), make sure it's the 1 male-to-2 females version (sounds like my kind of numbers...), connect it at the preamp and run one long interconnect cable to each sub from the Y-cable. MonsterCable makes a nice one that you can get at Best Buy or Circuit City type stores. It's only about $15 from what I recall. If you really want to go the cheap-ass route, you can pick one up for $2.99 at Radio Shack.
Here's the MonsterCable version. It's pretty too:
The first should work but the second is chancy since you do not say what sort of "extra outputs" the sub has.
ive used the pre amp outputs.it works but I dont know if your suppose to use it for that
