In Reply to: Denon DVD-5900 DVI & Menu upgrade? posted by AbeCollins on May 14, 2004 at 07:06:57:
There is a thread on the AVS forum on how to get the disc. I faxed a request and Denon Fed Xed it to me and I received it the next day (to Canada no less!).
The disc has both fixes.

Thanks, if you have the URL to the thread on AVS forum that discusses this, I'd really appreciate it. I've been looking there and I find the navigation and search cumbersome and haven't found the information. I'm probably just not very familiar with AVS forum yet. thanks
Try this. You download a fax request page and fax it to Denon.

I downloaded the PDF fax request form and it looks like the upgrade process is relatively painless. I'm checking to see if that used DVD-5900 is still available. I'm pleased with my 2900 but I'm seeking a little better audio performance and since my TV has a DVI port, that along with the video upscaler will be a nice bonus as well.
I upgraded from the DVD-2900 to the DVD-5900 and am very happy.Sonically the DVD-5900 is a big step up,and the DVI connection is a great option.
Good luck.
Bill
