I have a Mitsubishi 3515R. When you turn the TV on it has lines at the top of the screen which are semi-transparent, but reverse whatever image is in that area. At first this would go away after 5 mins or so but now it takes a couple hours to go away if at all.
Any help in troubleshooting would be most appreciated. I have had this set for 12 yrs. and the picture/sound is still excellent except for the lines.
Follow Ups:
It looks like vertical flip-over.
It is just the term that most technicians use.
This is caused by bad capacitor(s) in vertical stage. And sometimes bad connections.
As you said, at first problem woud be there for just a couple of minutes, and now this time is getting longer. It will be just getting worse.
If you wanna look into it yourself, look for capacitors (electrolytic) in vertical stage that has its jacked shrunk (due to heat).
I assyme you know basic safety, (unplug the TV and so on).
This fault, if left unatended, usually does not cause other component to go bad. So no rush to fix it.
