for ~$1100, we're really pleased the this unit. It's lacking some of features that higher buck models have, but the audio pass-through is very clean, definitely up to good audio pre-amp quality. It's still breaking in and we can highly recommend it. It does have video switching, if you care. We don't and we're hesitant to run those nasty video signals in amongst the audio.

I will note that the "sound field prcessing," (Hall, Church, etc.) is just crap, IMHO. But we've thought that on every processor so far!
The current models have the upgrade Motorola DSP56366 chip and Dolby ProLogic II (the way to go to add surround to stereo sources...
we use it for broadcast TV primarily and OF COURSE, for Nik's gamecube). Have no way to assess the improvement afforded by the chip upgrade, but the PLII is nice; we'd recommend the newer units that have these.Dave and Kathy.
