Are you sure the displays you've seen are correctly set up? I agree that many in the discount stores are not but most current sets have a choice of four or more aspect ratios for non Hi Def pictures.

True High Definition comes in only one flavor, 16 x 9, and fills the screen correctly.

I agree that there is not much Hi Def at present, unless you pay big bucks to the cable company for the premium channels.
