hi,
Widescreen Review has been doing a 4 part series on processors; it is worth reading.
a) make sure there is an unadulterated analog path if you have a record player (the Parasound has an analog path)
b) Hardesty, the author of the series, seems to prefer BurrBrown dacs; but he is pretty coy about it.
c) set a budget for your home theater. The last time i looked, you could get the Ref20, B+K monoblocks with a B+K 3 channel amp and a 53" Sony XBR
for about the same money as the Krell processor. B+K makes a nice product,
i have one and i think they offer a lot of bang for the buck; but.....
d) how much power do those speakers need? CJ just came out with a HT amp, i like CJ. What are you using now, if it is really nice, you can get a 3 channel amp to add on. You might want to post over at the Speaker Asylum
something like: 'What amp are you using for your Electras?' That might give you a better idea of what brands work well with that speaker.
on-line or just in print?
I'm looking hard at some upgrades/changes to my B&K stuff and am very interested in processors options
