I also spent time looking at all the competetion. I think the consensus on the main issue with the LCD technology is the black levels as well. I don't have that complaint myself, I am very satisfied with the TV. DVDs look awesome, especially through the DVI at 720 P! I only have HDTV provided by my cable company and I don't think the cable company's performance in HDTV is up to snuff. It's good, but not great. I have seen way better on the same TV with other HDTV sources.

I guess the real differentiator for me was no gambling on eye strain or rainbows *and* no burn in.
