These DVDs are supposed to play in any DVD player, regardless of the country/region the player was purchased in.As for purchase of a DVD from ebay, that's your call.

I bought some region 0 (all) dvds, however, because they are not NTSC but Pal, my player could not take it. I am looking into a multisystem player with both Pal and NTSC, but I could not get the sales person to tell me if it will play on a standard NTSC TV or it must go with a Pal TV. Do you know? Thanks.
The Cyberhome unit is very cheap ($37 at Best Buy) and claims to have a PAL to NTSC converter included. How well it works is unknown.
Region 0 DVDs will play on any DVD player (they are not region specific). Of course, formats (NTSC and PAL) are a different story. Many of the multi-region DVD players will play both PAL and NTSC and convert from one format to the other. Some players do this well and some players don't do a great job at the conversion. In either case, make sure the player will actually do the converting before you purchase a specific model.

I realize that they're supposed to play, but is there anyone out there who owns a # of these and finds that they play fine, and, if they don't play fine, is it easy enough to set the DVD player's mystery menu to allow them to play? Thanks again.
