The 42" and 61" residential models (what NEC calls their consumer model) with the silver bezels have a following. However, several owners of NEC's 50" model posted a few complaints on AVS Forum.
This question was also posted on AVS Forum and he was given several links to check out in that thread.
NEC has announced some details about their next line and somewhere in the Plasmas and Flat Panel LCDs forum there is a link to this news. I haven't checked out their new line (M4/S), so I can't comment on those.
This line in the linked post below should say M3/S -- not M2/S:
"However, it was noted that along with the above image retention issue and non-Panasonic blacks, the 50" M2/S model had a problem with noticeable buzzing and possible power supply issues."
