As many of you well know, the college bound student has little money to spend. I am in the market for a fairly inexspensive progressive scan dvd palyer that offers component video out, spdif or optical audio out, and features a high-quality decoder chip ( i have noticed that the newer "progressive scan" bargain dvd players feature very poor decoding, and tend to have a problem with reds bleeding, even on well-calibrated televisions). It is for that reason that I have come to the experts at audioasylum, based on my past good fortune with the posters here. Let me know what you think!
Follow Ups:
Look for a used Panasonice XP-30 or XP-50. These are superb players.
The 50 plays DVD-audio as well.
