If you don't mind the smaller size, direct view CRT like the Sony is still a great choice as well as many others. If you want bigger, the non-XBR Sony RPLCD's are great, especially since they have a pretty good anti-reflection screens. I can watch my Sony in daylight pretty well due to low reflections. XBR Sony's have a mirror-like screen, which cannot be watched well in sunlight. Also, be careful about the 3rd gen digital chip, HD3. The jury is still out as many who have switched rom Samsung HLN (HD2) to Samsung HLP (HD3) have expressed unhappiness and have gone back to HD2. Some people feel the HD3, while smoother, has less sharpness, resolution. HD3 is a economical replacement for HD2, not necessarily a quality improvement. The upcoming HD2+ chip is supposed to be the actual improvement.
