Will be my second mini HT system so I cannot spend too much nor do I need full capability. In a gym actually. So, important considerations are
1) Single Remote so that one can control devices from treadmill or stairclimber (therefore is same brand receiver and DVD player an easier answer?)
2) DTS and DD in receiver. Please recommend
1) Receiver2) DVD plus CD player all in one (with dual readers or just a simple but very good quality DVD)
Please consider as given:
TV old TV will be used so it does not have modern connection capability - TV volume is dying or practically dead after being abused so that it can be heard above the din of treadmill.
B&W DM602 S2 as front speakers (already purchased)
B&W ASW 1000 as subwoofer (already purchased)
B&W DM601 S2 as surround (to be purchased)
processors such as the Sony EPS series or Tachnics 500D - they will handle your DD & DTS requirements. There are quite a few good used amps which would suit. As for the DVD player, again, from the sound of your situation I would not spend too much & not expect too much from CDs using it as a player. Also have a look at the costs of a DVD with DD & DTS out - that could even work out cheaper & is certainly a lot simpler.Good hunting
Peace at AA
John
