I have a Sony STR-DB930 reciever, and mission cinema 7 speakers. The main stereo pair are biwirable. In order to do this should the four wires from the speakers join back in to 2 at the amp? The amp has sockets for a second set of stereo speakers, although it says the impedance needs to be set to 4 (it defaults to 8)if these are used. Should I use these instead?
-thanks in advance for any help anyone can give me...

You could use either connection method. If you use the second (and assuming your main speakers are 8 ohms), leave the impedance set for eight ohms. You would only use the 4 ohm switch if you used two separate pairs of 8 ohm speakers at the same time.
If your plan involves spending any money, you should be aware that bi-wiring may result in no improvement, and in rare cases can cause a deterioration due to increased capacitance. Also, an inexpensive bi-wire pair may lose out in sound quality to a similarly priced single pair. Try before you buy.
