Just a word of warning about "cheap" plasmas. You get what you pay for.
A cheap plasma is cheap for a reason.
It may use older design glass, have inferior electronics and signal processing.
Follow Ups:
That Korean Daewoo is better at building plasma screens than they were at building automobiles, which they tried to sell for a few years in the US and gave up in 2003 I believe. Anyone here remember the Daewoo Leganza, Lanos or Nubria?
As large Korean-based conglomerates go, unlike Samsung, which seems to be thriving, Daewoo has been on the ropes financially for some time and GM has been buying them up on the cheap. Interestingly, GM is now the major shareholder in Daewoo, and we are probably going to see Daewoo-built small cars sold as Chevrolets. Did I read somewhere that the new tiny Chevy is Daewoo-built? Will Daewoo build plasma screens for GM mini van entertainment centers? stay tuned.
I'd cross my toes too with GM involved. They have been backing turkeys for years.
Buying Saab, buying a 20% chunk of bigtime Euro losers Fiat.
The only sensible thing they've done for ages is to buy into Subaru, which led to the best Saab for over a decade, the 9-2X Subaru Impreza WRX clone.
