Read in the Feb issue of Film and Video that the post preduction house responsible for the bullet "tracks" in the Matrix movies is working on a digital version of 3 camera Cinerama. Does anyone think this might work or is marketable? Also, since so many of the old widescreen films were designed for a curved screen, is there any possibility of films being issued for home theatres with a curved screen (front projection, of course)
That was inspired by a one page article in a 1953 copy of Popular Mechanics featuring a Bell & Howell 16mm anamorphic camera and projector system, featuring a 2.5 to 1 ratio and stereo magnetic recording.
