I have spent the weekend looking at every large screen TV under $2000.00, and this one takes the cake. Watching the dreaded PBS hi-rez documentary on something about nature, it had the whitest whites, by far. The 53x53 had a few critics about its standard picture. Anyone have any comments about this great looking bargain, at $1680 delivered?

But Costco does not deliver. So I am going for a price match at Circuit city.
What were the complaints about?
i did ck the new gen3 dlp side by side with lcd and gen2 dlp.. lot more 'pop' and detail out of the new chip.. dammy. just when i thought i was talking myself into something cheaper.. guess i'll have to look at the panasonic. however, i'm getting waf'd into shallow footprint, probably for the best. sure were some good deals on crt's..
The picture was still by far the brightest, with the whitest whites, and best colors, in the under 2000 range for 50"+.
BUT, there was one second where the camera panned from left to right across a group of people watching Ayres rock (?) in Austral. Each human head developed 2 ghosts. Instant headache. The faces blurred to being imperceptible\unintelligible. Just for a second, but enough to make me groan with dismay. My salesman also told me that its edge image is not as sharp as the center image, which is not true of the new Mitsubishi line.
But I am a poor lawyer; and $1610 setup is in the budget, and $3499.00 is not.
for around $1300-1400 or so.... fyi. but frankly, they had the picture there dialed into 'shitty'. so i didn't see what you saw in it.
