I think this is VERY system- and setup-dependant. With the dipole Maggies and decent 'phantoming,' you may very well go beyond what you can get from the very bass-limited CC-3, especially on stereo music sources. Even with good MCH DVD sources, this may be true.

OTOH, get rid of the TV and use really full-range speakers and the tables are turned.
