Video Asylum

I know Micro$oft is offering HD-DVD's for it's Media Player 9 & above, but I was wondering how long it'd be before consumer DVD players will have the technology available. I currently have a 27" TV, but I'm looking to upgrade to a 42" to 50" HDTV. I currently have a Toshiba SD-5700 from a little over 2 years ago. I'm wondering how that'd hold up with a larger HDTV.

If HD-DVD is over 2 years away, then I might get something like then new Denon DVD-3910, but if it's less than 2 years away, then I might just wait. What do you think?
