... is that you can SEE the moustache on some of the Eastern European female competitors!!!! AAAAAAAAAAUGH! On standard NTSC you can't even see anything but in hi-def you can practically count the hairs. Watching the women's 400m race and Mariyana Dimitrova from Bulgaria looked quite cute until they did a closeup of her face. Honey... WAX that thing!!!!
Follow Ups:
it should be "Honeeeeeey, wax that thaing!" :)
On a HDTV broadcast on a plasma was the digital artifacting on some shots. I noticed this particularly when the camera was following an athlete against a moving background. The edges of the individual on the screen was often obscured by rapidly shifting blocking artifacts. Really weird effect resulting from too much compression.
I didn't see any artifacting at all... how are you getting the content? On the contrary, I was blown away by the picture quality.
Yeah, I kinda noticed the same 5 O'clock shadow problem with some of the other female athletes. Still, hi-def 16:9 along with Dolby Digital sound is incredible!
is coming next. There are some things you wanna see better, especially in HD on 60 inch HDTV!
...on ABC's Monday Night Football. Lot more of those than I wanted to see. : * )
Another problem is that the coverage is at least a day or two old. I am also getting very tired of the ads for "LAX." However, the PQ of the events, and the fly-overs of Greece, is amazing.
