I know that it can be a pain, but I would suggest taking EVERYTHING apart & cleaning all the cables and connectors. CAIG makes some good cleaners that are effective. My experience is that over time connections get dirty and/or loose. Cleaning and carefully rearranging all the wires often solves this type of problem.
