make a DVD work because they can't read all the labels! The issue is with DVD-A which is NOT well thought out. If you want to listen to music why do you need a TV to figure out what to do? SACD has no such limitations.
Follow Ups:
Mine is not like "Most four year olds" and knew how to operate a TV/VCR combo at 2. For Christmas 2003, about a month before he turned 4, he got a DVD player. I showed him how to work it (not all of the technical functions, just how to get the DVD to play, choose the right menu words, etc). When he gets DVDs now, the only trouble he has with them is getting that fucking wrap and security tape shit off! I guess that's what dads are for.If you take the time to show them and explain a few things, most 4 year olds can operate a DVD player. As for DVD-As, I'm sure mine could be taught how to navigate them in a few minutes. However, without a TV screen, we're all pretty much screwed.
