Does anyone have a reccomendation for an a-v receiver that has the following specs?100 wpc x 5 (min)
phono input
tape loop
The Yamaha RX v2095 is a good choice as well as the upper line of Denon, they sound very different. The Denon is much darker sounding than the Yamaha. Nothing wrong with either, just listen and see which you prefer.
I would avoid Sony midline products as reliability is a problem in my experience.
Yamaha rx-v995 meets those specs. Imagine the 2095 and DSP-A1 do as well.
No. The 2095 and DSP-A1 do not have phono inputs. The 995 does, however, and all the lower numbers in the product line. You might also look at the Denon 3300.
Oh, what does "phono" mean in the photograph of the back of the DSP A-1 mean?http://www.yamaha.com/yec/products/backpanels/DSPA1/bDSPA1_2.htm

I stand corrected. The A1 does indeed have a phono stage; it's lacking an FM tuner. So sorry,

No apology required but with 60 music channels raining down through my satellite receiver I'd have to say that "lacking" a tuner ain't so bad. Betcha' I don't miss it at all! (~:
The DSP-A1 does have a phono section - I use it every day
