Does anyone have an opinion on the relative merits of RGB vs S-Video vs component video for DVD to TV conections. In the UK you can get plenty of DVD players with component video outputs but almost no TVs with component inputs. You're then left with using either RGB via Scart or S-Video. I was wondering whether there is any difference in picture quality between the three formats?

Stay with S-Video The picture is perfect
I'M TRYING TO RECORD FROM A STANDARD VCR TO MY LAPTOP (APPLE)...WHICH I CAN DO...BUT WANT TO USE A NEW FIREWIRE CARD TO ENHANCE THE VIDEO SIGNAL...IS THERE SOME ADAPTOR MADE WHICH CONVERTS RCA PLUGS TO EITHER S-VIDEO MALE PLUGS...OR PERHAPS A DIGITAL PLUG LIKE THOSE COMING FROM A DIGITAL VIDEO CAMERA?
Please stop YELLING and we'll be happy to reply.
Well, the picture isn't perfect, and actually on some systems I can see that component video is superior. It takes a good source and display device to see the differences between S-video and component video.
