I look at the prices offered by US companies on the Net and they are so much lower than anything that can be gotten in Canada that I wonder if it is feasible to have one shipped to Canada. Has anyone gone that route? I am looking for a JVC HD ILA 61 inch and wonder if the cost and the risk involved in having such a big box shipped are worth it. The price differential between that from a brick and mortar store in the Montreal area and some discounters on the NET is almost 45%! That to me is both unbelievable and tempting. More than enough to cover shipping costs and brokerage fee and still have a good deal.Am I pushing my luck if I go that route? Thanks.

You don't get stuck with the GST IF the unit is one made in the USA or Mexico but you will otherwise. Given that most of these are made in Japan, Korea or China, you are likely to get stuck with GST on top of everything else.
after the broker and duty fee. Talk to your dealer as they always get shipment from the US and other countries around the world. That is what I did of course they would not tell you the details but if you know the dealer personally he should be able to help you.
