I have a library of 18 years worth of VHS college football games that I would love to transfer to DVD. The cassettes are taking up way to much room.
Problem is these games are 3.5-4 hours long. From what I can tell, DVD capacity is approximately 2 hrs.
Is this correct? If so, is there another option?

For recordable DVDs, video quality will, of course, depend on the source.
single-layer DVD
DVD quality = 1 hr
VHS quality = 2 hrs
dual-layer DVD
DVD quality = 2 hrs
VHS quality = 4 hrs
times are approximate, check your local listings
If I remember right, my DVD recorder has the same time options as a VCR. 2,4,6 hours NT - grantv 18:25:10 11/28/04 (0)
