I am considering doing some switching around in my system and would be looking at picking up a new DVD player in the process. I currently have a Camelot Roundtable, which is certainly an excellent DVD player (not to mention it's top-notch sound). A couple of years back this was one of the top contendors in the DVD playback arena, but I'd imagine recent developments in players would lead me down a different road. CD playback would not be an issue as I would be using seperate players and/or a DAC for Redbook playback using the DVD player as a transport. Price range I'd consider is pretty wide so, short of the mega-bucks players (Ayre, Esoteric, etc.), I'm open to any and all suggestions. Thanks in advance!

Follow Ups:
Find an Onkyo sp 1000 for 1600.00 from an authorised dealer and you will have the best 1 box video available as well as the best cd/sa-cd and build from any universal player under 2.5k bar none.
I'm currently using a Pioneer DV-AX10 with excellent results. I've compared to Muse 8/296 and Muse 9. The Pioneer not only is a Universal Player but seems to be more reliable that the Muse equipment. I do belive the Muse was ever so slightly better sounding on redbook than the Pioneer, but only by the slimest margin. The picture from the Pioneer is smokin'... BTW my monitor is the Pioneer Elite Pro530HDi.
the big changes have been in terms of price. The next change will be HD-DVD, IF they ever short out which format wins.
