I just bought a Samsung LT-P326W 32 inch LCD TV (Picture is awesome BTW) and a Tuner and DVD Player. All of these Units have HDMI, DVI, Component video and a bunch of others. Can someone here tell me what connections I should use to the Tuner and DVD Player and the TV for the best Picture Quality.I've got the Audio Figured out. :-)

HDMI and DVI should present the best picture quality. The only advantage I see for HDMI is the smaller connector size and the fact that it also carries the audio signal. If you don't need the audio signal then DVI is just fine too. Next choice would be the component video outputs (Red Green Blue) in terms of picture quality, then S-Video, and lastly the common RCA composite output.

It turns out that the HDTuner does not have HDMI, just DVI.I have seen cables that have a DVI at one end and a HDMI at the other. Should I hook the tuner up with this or use the DVI to DVI connection instead? Or it doesn't matter? Thanks

He talks about DVI an HDMI in a thread just bit below ours.

I have no first hand experience with HDMI but I've read somewhere (maybe here on AA) that some DVI to HDMI cables have problems. For audio, you can run the RCA's from your HD Tuner to your audio setup. If you have an A/V receiver or processor with digital input, the optical or coaxial out from your HD Tuner can be used to carry the audio signal - and you will sometimes get Dolby Digital 5.1 encoded HD broadcasts for nice 5.1 channel surround effects. If that's not important to you, using just the main L & R channel RCA's is fine.

If both units have HDMI, then go HDMI for best PQ, no contest. This is the latest and it "should" become the standard connector for sending and receiving video signal. If one unit has DVI and the other HDMI, you can even get cables with DVI at one end and HDMI at the other.
"If both units have HDMI, then go HDMI for best PQ, no contest."Are you sure? I've read that DVI and HDMI offer the same picture quality. The only real advantage of HDMI is that it includes the digital audio signal.... and in most cases you don't need it because for a home theater setup you will run the audio from the DVD player into a processor or A/V receiver. I see HDMI as a cabling / connection convenience more than a big step up in technology for picture quality.
