Some players hold the picture and will restart it at any time at the point you pressed stop. Others, like my Panasonic, will return only if you go back within a short time. So it all depends on the player.

A 'goner showed me the light. I can shut off my Denon 2910 by the power mode. When turned on, it will resume just where it left off. That is cool. thanks anyway....
Most DVD players will maintain the last position memory unless the disc is ejected or power is removed.One exception is a recent Pioneer universal player (model DV-676A)which had the ability to memorise where you stopped the disc even if you ejected it.
