I have my Samsung about three weeks now. Only watch a couple of hours of TV/movies a day, at most. The ISF calibration man will be coming over in two weeks to do his thing. He said that I should have 75 hours on the bulb. Question: I have been leaving it on, starting yesterday, for 6 hours a day. I could leave it on, obviously, much longer. Will I damage the bulb if I leave the set on for the entire day? Say 12 hours? New to this bulb thing, so I do not have a clue about the possilbe deleterious effects of the prolonged heat. thanks in advance. peace, warren

Been running my Sammy 12+ hours a day. Have about 60 hours on the lamp and already notice a difference. I'm going to get another 60 hours on this baby by next Saturday, and then the ISF calibration. The guy, who is doing the calibration, told me the more hours the merrier. He told me (as well as others) to burn away.
Assuming the bulb is properly cooled by the fan, leaving it on for long periods is LESS harmful than turning the bulb on and off frequently. All bulbs are most stressed at turn on. This is ture with incandescent, fluorescent, metal halide, etc. I have never had a bulb fail while in use, its always at turn on.
