When I set the phantom channel configuration on my pre/pro, I find that the DVD extras don't quite work with no info from dialog as if the center speaker is missing, but its fine with the main movie. I'm I doing something wrong here?
Follow Ups:
I am at a loss here as I use a phantom canter and have no problem with the extras on my many DVDs, although many times the extras are in plain stereo or even mono. Does the manual say anything about the effects of using a phantomm center?
Some DVDs only use 2 channels instead of 5 channels in the extras.
I'll check, but I'm pretty sure it just tells you how to set up phantom center, I'll check all the settings again. The pre is the Acurus Act 3, thanks for the reply.
Mine does not do phantom center on analog Dolby Pro Logic like from analog TV; it sounds like you describe. If you are using a digital signal out of your player, I would not expect to hear the problem that you are having, but I don't know.
If for some reason you also have analog cables connect there and your decoder automatically switches to analog DPL for some reason, that might explain your symptom.
I do only have digital cable from the player to the pre, which is a Acurus Act 3, I'll check all settings again, thanks for the reply.
