Hey guys.I've borrowed some top o' the line Nordost Optix component video cables, as well as some pricey XLO component cables to shoot-out against my set of Canare cables (which I had professionally made for me).
I've done this before and typically I just use some reference scenes from movies on DVD, looking for things like sharpness, color saturation, noise etc.
However, I'm wondering if anyone would have additional suggestions to make sure I've covered all the ground. If I'm going to see any difference between these cables (and I admit to being somewhat skeptical) are there any particular test patterns that would make these differences most visible? I have AVIA.
I'm trying to establish both whether:
1. There is a noticeable difference in video quality on source material I would actually watch.
2. Whether there is a perceptible difference in video quality at all between the cables (which is why I would employ test patterns).
Thanks,
