I can't say for certain my hum is from the TV. I haven't bothered to connect and then disconnect the cable from the TV, but either way I am getting a hum when it's connect to my receiver. It's real annoying (Of course) any ideas on how to get rid of it? Is it a ground thing? You can't remove the ground from S-video can you? I have used something to remove noise from wall outlets which I think did something to the ground. (3 prong down to 2 prongs)

I don't see an edit option for my post...??Anyway, I meant to say disconnecting the CABLE TV cable from receiver. The noise might be coming from the cable companies cable.
Here is another solution:http://www.dplay.com/tutorial/cablehum.html
Some non-dedicated Home Theater amps have this problem. Most likely it is the cable.
Yeah, it's the cable. If I play with a bit I can make it go away ......at least temporarily.
Racerguys suggestion is good and will usually work fine, but if you can still hear some hum as I did at one house I lived in, you should go to where the cable enters your house and see if it is properly grounded to your houses main circuit-breaker box. Proper grounding should remove most to all of the problem. If you are in an apartment or condo or can't ground the incoming line properly then the ground isolater is the next best thing. Many splitters ( look down two items on the linked page ) have a hole with a bolt to tighten down a ground wire which you run to your houses main ground. It is best to get rid of the cause of the problem instead of the band-aid, if possible.
