  I have had recent good luck with the Harman Kardon AVR235. There is a thread just a few lines below this post that I started regarding it. The AVR135, just below the 235, may be just what you need and costs even less.

  I agree with Abe however when it comes to reasonably priced equipment; Denon receivers are quite nice.
