I am in the market for a 5.1 channel home theater receiver. I am a high school student without income and a low budget. Could anyone give any suggestions for decent receivers? I could also buy something used.
-thanks

I have had recent good luck with the Harman Kardon AVR235. There is a thread just a few lines below this post that I started regarding it. The AVR135, just below the 235, may be just what you need and costs even less.Don't let the rated power scare you away. It is an honest rating of high current power.
I agree with Abe however when it comes to reasonably priced equipment; Denon receivers are quite nice.
I like the entry model Denon receivers.... lots of features for the price and sound pretty darn good too.
