EDTV plasmas and CRT RP's are being phased out by most retailers. Don't hold your breath for a quick, big drop in HDTV DLP, LCD, or plasma sets. They've been gradually reducing prices since Fall, clearing inventory. If you wait 'til the "big" drop appears in the sunday paper,it will probably be noted "limited to stock on hand".My advise is to pick a few acceptable models, set mental price points, and be ready to buy. If you wait one week-end clearance sale too long, your preferred model may be gone for good. And don't be afraid to dicker...most store mgrs will cut at least 10% if you're going out the door.

Has everything worked out ok with it? Any green lines yet or did you schedule a card replacement?Amazing that over a year ago, so many Pioneer owners were bailing out, returning their sets, worried that the streaking problem would never go away. I'm glad I held on to mine.
I've been streak free with my 730HD since July of last year, I'm confident Pioneer finally resolved the issue. But think I will wait until after next July to get it calibrated, just to be sure (plus I need to upgrade my DVD player first).
I just feel so smug that I got this great superb set at a ridiculous price on close-out :) I wish could find the matching audio cabinet at a discount.
Somebody out there probably has one sitting around, with no Elite RPTV to sale with it. I remember one of my dealers having one on display, was pretty $$$. May cost you a road trip.
