My darn daughter, two years old, somehow caused a small scuff mark on my Loewe Aconda Tv. I was wondering if a product, named, Liquid Lens, meant to fix wearing glasses, scratches can be used to clear up the mark on my Loewe. I am hoping that this would be fine and not cause any damage to the screen. Thanks, Gerald. I am sure this is a fairly unique question, I figure some of you would have an idea.
Follow Ups:
If it were my set I would call Loewe and ask for the Aconda owner's customer service manager. Ask him what they use to remove scuffs. It it is a "scuff" only it should come off with polish. If it is a "scratch" on the optical glass you may just have to live with it. Yuo may want to buy a cover for the screen so your little one does not have any more fun with your set. You might also go to a glass store. Ask what polish they use? This should be the last step of desperation.. If you use something that damages the glass you can easily make it worse than it already is. Good luck. John
The CRT has an anti-reflective coating on it, which is probably what got scuffed (not the glass). If you try to use any sort of cleanser (which are mildly abrasive), you will make the problem worse. A "scratch sealer" won't be the same as the anti-reflective coating, so you will have a spot on the TV that reflects differently than the rest of the television, and will be quite noticeable. Depending on how bad the scuff in the anti-reflective coating is, a repair attempt could stand out much more than the damage. If the scuff really bothers you, you should contact Loewe, or your Loewe dealer for advice.
