I looked for a hack for your player, but didn't come across one.Here's a possible solution: DVDDecrypter and DVDShrink.
You can use these software tools to make perfect copies of your other-region DVDs without region restrictions.

Thanks,I found a hardware hack
http://jvb.nl/jvb.asp?cur=2&level=modifications&page=title&title=741(plug in board)but it won't convert pal to ntsc. Which gets me part of the way there....
