In Reply to: Hooking a computer to a HD set... (quite an involved question!) posted by Dman on September 1, 2005 at 14:22:33:
The computer connection will give you an RGB output (which is coming from the computer's VGA output), not a YPbPr output -- which your Sony display is expecting to see. In other words, it's a format conflict.Unless your Sony display has a VGA or RGB input (not likely), you won't be able to hook up the computer to the display. For a few bucks, there are computer video cards available that will output composite, S-video and/or DVI signals that your display may be able to use.
You can get a video card that outputs composite and DVI signals from newegg.com for about $35. The unfortunate fact about computer DVI outputs is that not all displays will accept this type of signal from a computer. I have read many complaints from Sony RPTV owners that have tried to connect a DVI output from a computer to their displays and could never get the connection to act right, even though the DVI output from their DVD players work fine.

I figured it was something simple enough to elude me!!!Thanks.
I'm running the compy through the Video card's S output right now (for now as well...).
