I heard a 59txi not too long ago driving Sonus Faber Grand Pianos... sounded pretty damn good, actually. I also think that Pioneer's internal D/A must be pretty good. A Denon 2900 was driving it's digital input, and it SMOKED the Denon's analog outputs in direct comparison, IMO. You might be pleasantly surprised!

Mine is anyway, My DAc in my Sherwood Newcastle Pre-amp certainly sounds better.
