Greetings,I've heard that it is best to burn CD backups at either 1x or 4x for maximum sound quality, is there an optimal value for DVD backups too?
Follow Ups:
To prevent data errors, I burn at the slower of half the rated speed of the burner or half the rated speed of the DVD discs. Burning at max speed assumes that everything in the burning chain is perfect: the blank discs, the burner, and the data stream from the hard drive. Virus scans, updates, or even the changing of the computer's clock can affect the integrity of the data stream.
I burn all my DVDs at 4X even though my burner can do 16x, haven't burnt a coaster yet.
