Thank you. If I can ask one more question. Does an HDTV tuner act as an antenna as well? What I mean is, if the over the air stations are snowy now, will they still be snowy or will the tuner improve that? Thanks again.

Sure can understand why you're confused. Suggest you have a chat with your local Direct TV or Dish representative. My Direct TV service includes the specially shaped HD dishlike antena and a HD decoder box. I recieve all local channels via over the air transmission by way of the satellite antenna, i.e. it picks up both the satellite signal and the regular over the air ones. My reception is excellant on all the digital channels. You may be able to recieve the same service. FWIW, I could save a couple bucks and set up a separate antenna for my local sations, but have thought the bother was worth it.
IMO, satellite is the way to go, unlimited channels now and in the future.
good luck,
You will still need an antenna. The decoder simply decodes the digital signal.BTW, even if you go w/ satellite HD, you'll still need an antenna (but not an internal decoder - the satellite box will do this) to get over-the-air HD signals. Currently, satellite can't offer HD from your local channels.
