I think I'll keep what I have for now which is the Denon 3803 receiver. I use it as a processor and to drive the center and rear channels. The main front channels go through my preamp theater bypass then on to the main power amp.I was hoping to find a better selection of dedicated processors wtih HDMI but they are very few. It would also be nice to find a processor with an outstanding analog preamp section - so I can get rid of the dedicated 2-channel preamp. I'm probably asking for too much.

Will a HDMI switch switch all pins including those that carry digital audio?Maybe I'm confused but my hope for HDMI, at least for a home theater setup, is to minimize the number of cables.
I believe HDMI will (eventually) do this as it is supposed to carry multiple digital audio channels as well as the video signal - right? And I think this is where most manufacturers are not quite on board and on the same page, yet.
I have no interest in the audio portion of HDMI, at least at present. For example, it will not yet carry MCH SACD. Consequently, I prefer to keep the audio and video separate and use a programmable remote to switch them in synchrony most of the time or not (so I can watch a football game while listening to music).
