The Eagles Hell Freezes Over DVD first play menu has a selection between PCM (default) and DTS. If you don't select it here, you may not be able to switch audio streams during playback. If you're not seeing the first play menu selection, you may have to put in a different DVD (pick anything) into your DVD player, and then put in the Hell Freezes Over DVD. Hope this helps!

I tried a different DVD and then switched back, but I still had the same problem. Or so I thought! I had seen the initial screen that states that you need a DTS-capable DVD player and a DTS decoder somewhere in the system, but what I hadn't noticed was that the PCM "icon" at the top was highlighted and the DTS "icon" was not. (This is our first DTS DVD!) I hit the left arrow key and selected DTS and now it works. :)One quirk with my DVD player. Once it started in DTS mode, I quickly hit the forward key to the 5th chapter, which is the first song "Hotel California". For whatever reason, my DVD player was back into 2 channel mode. I re-inserted the DVD, selected DTS, and then let the movie enter into the 1st chapter completely. After about 15 seconds, I was able to hit forward, stop-and-restart, etc. without it leaving DTS mode. Odd!
Thanks for your help! Your suggestion gave me a solid clue as to my solution.
Glad to hear the problem is resolved. The Eagles:HFO placement of the DTS/PCM audio selection in a first play menu is just plain ridiculous. BTW, the Eagles:HFO has excellent audio mastering and processing -- some might say too much so :-) -- but IMHO it beats out the Eric Clapton Unplugged DD5.1 DVD I was listening to last night.
