I run my music and HT systems independently so I have 2 sets of speaker cables and just swap them everytime I switch from music to HT. If you use banana plugs (I use the expanding WBT ones) it really just takes a minute to do.
Independent systems also means no cross-platform noise contamination.

My room is too small for extra speakers. It is an interesting idea to swap cables. With my Vandy speakers, bannanas are the only options.

  It gets a bit tiresome if you use spades but with banana plugs it is really quite painless. This way you just use 1 set of speakers although you've got 2 preamps, 2 amps, etc.
