I have to admit that I have not tried HDMI since my system does support it. My hedged posting was based on this DVD player article at Projector Central:

Could you tell us what combination of DVD player and display that you have that does not work well with HDMI? What resolutions were the player and display setup for?

If you have dual HDMI inputs on your TV check the manual as to which port ro use for which equipment. I have an LG Electr. DLP TV and it recommends HDMI port 1 for the DVD player.
