Thanks,I don't think REL markets the Strata in the US anymore (or they stopped production on them), so now I'm considering the Q201e, but it sounds like REL is the way to go here.
Follow Ups:
RELs are great as musical subs but they didn't really shine compared to the competition when it came to concussive HT LFE effects. They might have kept the line if the Brittania series showed up a bit earlier and demonstrated marketability.I'm looking into it because I'm fairly sure I could benefit from dual stereo subs with the right RELs but it also has to give me significantly better HT LFE effects. I tried a single REL Stadium III but not enough impact in my room for LFE. There is a REL Stentor III the dealer has been trying to unload for several years without success..... Maybe this sub combined with my existing sub could be a good combo for both music and HT LFE.
hmmm, well, there's always audiogon for a used strata (I bought a used one locally a couple months ago for $600). The way REL matches the amp and woofer (making sure that the amp can't drive the woofer past safe levels, etc), it makes for a pretty long-lasting sub.
