I think the unit is OK. My personal exprience has been that the better the source the better the end result. For example, the Cambridge DVD player is a nice sounding unit & picture is good as well. It is more money than the Toshiba.

BUT, you may be happy with the setup & not wish to spend more. I would say, setup what you have, see how it works & then look for ways to improve you are dissatified.
