Was considering the purchase of a HDTV, but was concerned about
the reception given the fact that I live in an high rise apartment (Maryland). I was
also wondering what type of antenna to use for proper reception.
I've read that standard rabbit ears are not the best way to go.
Jake,I'm planning on getting an RCA DTC100 in July and am performing a great deal of research. From what I've read, rabbit ears work fine, several people are having a blast with the new format. I would adhere by Estes recommendation if you're buying a new TV to do HDTV. I have a capable front projector which is why I'm going to do it. In addition, the DTC100 will let you link into DirecTV which is doing HD HBO & Showtime. Of course stations are just getting on board, but come on! This is bleeding edge stuff. SACD be damned! This is the next big thing.

You need a roof top antenna with a rotor. So I would forego HDTV for now. Add to that, only a few stations are broadcasting in that format. Better wait and see.
